Brain Development and Learning
Question: Discuss about theBrain Development and Learning. Answer: Introduction The early experiences in a child life lay the foundation for the childs mental health and social wellbeing. According to Bowlby and Ainsworth 2013, the secure attachment style is established when the caregivers understand the childs need and responses and develop a warm, intimate relationship. The secure attachment in children not only develops independence but also the emotional and social wellbeing that helps to explore the world. It helps the child to grow and develop feeling of safety, trust in the relationships they develop in future. The emotional and social wellbeing is also associated with brain development in children. According to Powell et al. 2013, the positive behavior, academic achievement and better mental health are associated with emotional and social wellbeing along with brain development in children. The circle of security helps in developing the children and parent emotional relationships. The above theories stated that the physical, mental, emotional wellbeing along with learning cognitive aspects is a holistic approach. They are key aspects to childs learning beyond academics with social and emotional wellbeing. As stated by Eriksons stages of psychosocial development, a person passes through eight stages in their entire life that determines ones development and learning in association with the external environment (Darling-Fisher and Leidy 2015). The learning and development are intertwined and should practice, incorporate ideas to recognize connections and influences between society, family, community and therefore, the society as a whole matter in learning and development in a child. System Information on Home Care Essay Example
System Information on Home Care Essay Example System Information on Home Care Essay System Information on Home Care Essay It has become a trend to surf the Internet in order to gather information about the diseases.à The patient to know more of the disease and the means by which home care can be provided is increasingly using it.à Some amount of this information may helpful, but the Internet is increasing being misused, and a lot of incorrect information is circulating about.à à People often consider any information put up on the Internet as valid and tend to follow it (in diagnosing and treating the disease).à However in all cases, the source of information and a discussion with the medical professional is also required to clear all doubts.à Hence, it would be better if we examine this information with some amount of caution (NCI, 2005). Before the information is taken into consideration several points need to be considered including: The organization that operates the website. The organization that sponsors the website. The original source of the data available on the website. The intention of the website. Documentation provided of the information. The ability of the website to update and review the information The process of reviewing and updating. The currency of the information. Originality of the sources Accessibility of the information Accuracy of the information Complete nature of the information Simplicity of the language Disclaimer to demonstrate the limitations, currency, accuracy and authority of the information User-friendliness and easiness in using the website Availability of a search box to search within the website itself Attractive appearance of the website Ability to appeal to the audience Presence of links to suggest extra information to the interested audience Collection of information from the user The assurance of maintaining confidentiality of the user Communication with the users Provision of news letters and emails for the users Compliance with the laws and regulations regarding demonstration of information on the web site Provision of healthcare and ensuring that the patient has a positive outcome is usually ensured by a partnership between the patient and the hospital/physician. People may actually search a disorder and know what it actually is even before they would be consulting a physician.à Once a physician diagnosis the condition, the patient would like to crosscheck with a web site of what the physician said is true.à When the physician suggests a particular treatment for the condition, the patient would search the Internet to gather information of what the outcome of the treatment would be and if there are any advanced treatment offered by other healthcare organizations.à If the physician administers a drug, the patient would surf the Internet to determine if any side effects exist due to the consumption of the drug.à Some patients may also search the Internet to gather information regarding the actual place they would get help in treating a particular condition they are suffering from.à E-health emerged in the year 1997 and in the year 2000, more than 70 million people are using the Internet every year either to gather health information or to search for healthcare provider.à To enable e-health, 4 components are required namely, availability of health information, the presence of the physician and the patient, connectivity and the patientââ¬â¢s information accessibility.à The healthcare providers are putting up information so that patientââ¬â¢s are able to find medical care.à A healthcare provider would try its best to attract patients by putting up health information on its web site that sounds interesting and appealing to the patient.à They would also give information of the physicians and the specialists who would be providing the treatment.à The hospital would get its quality statement across to the patient by having accreditation with several quality control organizations in the US.à Besides, providing information of the servi ces provided and the physicianââ¬â¢s available, they would also provide information regarding the cost of the treatment, the various health packages available and the information of diseases diagnostic tests, and treatment procedures.à Usually, elders and the sick would find it difficult to turn to the Internet to get information.à About 50 % of the patients who require information from the Internet get somebody else to do it on their behalf (Shapiro, 2003). Many professionals consider that the Internet would have a strong role on healthcare in at least the next 50 years.à It is also helping to replace the case sheets of the patients with electronic health records.à The information can be feed, stored, processed and accessed on any place from the network of the hospitals (Hollander, 2001). Usually patients, who seek information on the Internet, would be doing it casually and would not follow scientific search criteria.à Most patients would be seeking to view information from commercial websites.à The information presented in such web sites may be such that it promotes a product or service sold by the company.à The medical advice may persuade the patient to go in for that treatment or tests.à Besides, information presented by commercial organizations may not follow a scientific background or evidence-based practice guidelines.à Patients would also be looking for material presented in a simple and easy to follow manner.à The patients would not be looking for credentials of the author or the organization that actually creates such information.à Graphics and the manner in which the information is presented to the patient would also attract the patient and would sound convincing enough to be trusted in.à This needs to be changed as several patients m ay be harmed due to faulty information put in the Internet. On the other hand, the service provider and the physician would be seeking information on the internet to upgrade their medical knowledge and to make sure that they have the intellectual resources that would help answer the patientââ¬â¢s queries.à The Internet itself would be persuading the patient to quiz the doctor about several aspects regarding their treatment.à It would not be right for the physician not to answer these questions, as it would go against the principles of medical ethics.à If the physician is able to answer these queries, then the patient would be having greater amount of confidence and trust in the physician.à The physicians and the service provider would be looking at sources that provide validated and authentic information.à Besides, he would also try to ensure that the information is current and has is evidence-based.à Such information would have good outcomes clinically.à The physician would also be checking the references of the infor mation.à Some of the types of web sites preferred by the physician include governmental organizations, universities, medical libraries, research institutes, etc. Although, there may be a lot of good information existent on the Internet, the potential of a small amount of information to cause harm has resulted in the felt need to exert more caution whilst using the information.à A greater number of instances in which the internet has resulted in harm and damage of the body and the mind is required so that people would be more careful in the future of using such information.à At present instances of harm and damage are very superficially known to us.à People should know that although the chances of harm are low, they are realistic if no proper precautions are exerted whilst using this information.à Usually peer-reviewed journals existent on the Internet do not concentrate on the ill effects or complications of any procedure or drug, but on its efficacy and benefits.à Hence, people consider these benefits and effectiveness first rather than the complications and the side effects.à Some people may also know of the chances of com plications, but consider it to be realistically low.à People who often use the Internet for medical advice and later suffer from certain ill effects or complications may not like to reveal it to others.à They begin to feel guilty and intimidated for using the non-routine means to solve their medical problems.à Hence, a significant number of instances in which people suffer from the ill effects of using medical information remain to be silent (Crocco, 2002).

Stag Moose - Facts and Figures
Stag Moose - Facts and Figures Name: Stag Moose; also known as Cervalces scotti Habitat: Swamps and woodlands of North America Historical Epoch: Pleistocene-Modern (2 million-10,000 years ago) Size and Weight: About eight feet long and 1,500 pounds Diet: Grass Distinguishing Characteristics: Large size; thin legs; elaborate antlers on the males About the Stag Moose The Stag Moose (which is sometimes hyphenated and capitalized differently, as the Stag-moose) wasnt technically a moose, but an overgrown, moose-like deer of Pleistocene North America equipped with unusually long, skinny legs, a head reminiscent of an elk, and elaborate, branched antlers (on the males) matched only by its fellow prehistoric ungulates Eucladoceros and the Irish Elk. The first Stag Moose fossil was discovered in 1805 by William Clark, of Lewis and Clark fame, at Big Bone Lick in Kentucky;Ã a second specimen was unearthed in New Jersey (of all places) in 1885, by William Barryman Scott (hence the Stag-Mooses species name, Cervalces scotti); and since then various individuals have been unearthed in states suchas Iowa and Ohio. (See a slideshow of 10 Recently Extinct Game Animals) Like its namesake, the Stag Moose led a very moose-like lifestylewhich, if you dont happen to be familiar with mooses, entailed wandering swamps, marshes and tidelands in search of tasty vegetation and keeping a close eye out for predators (such as the Saber-Toothed Tiger and the Dire Wolf, which also inhabited Pleistocene North America). As for the most distinctive characteristic of Cervalces scotti, its enormous, branching horns, those were clearly a sexually selected characteristic: the males of the herd locked antlers during mating season, and the winners earned the right to procreate with females (thus ensuring a new crop of big-antlered males, and so on down through the generations). Like its fellow plant-eating megafauna mammals of the last Ice Ageincluding the Woolly Rhino, the Woolly Mammoth, and the Giant Beaverthe Stag Moose was hunted by early humans, at the same time as its population was restricted by inexorable climate change and the loss of its natural pasture. However, the proximate cause of the Stag Mooses demise, 10,000 years ago, was probably the arrival in North America of the true moose (Alces alces), from eastern Eurasia via the Bering Land Bridge in Alaska. Alces alces, apparently, was better at being a moose than the Stag Moose, and its slightly smaller size helped it to subsist on rapidly dwindling amounts of vegetation.

Romeo and Juliet Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 1
Romeo and Juliet - Essay Example The first time it is presented by Othello to Desdemona as he impresses on her the magic of the talisman that was given to his mother by an Egyptian woman. The second time it is mentioned is as Othello attempts to justify his murder of Desdemona, saying Cassius had the talisman his father gave his mother. His review of the available literature on the subject reveals that most critics tend to assume Othello is lying in the first story that he tells to Desdemona as a means of romanticizing his past while few attempt to approach the question from the opposite point of view ââ¬â that Othello was telling Desdemona what he really believed. Andrews also concludes that the critics have, by and large, managed to trivialize the role that his race has played in the development of Othelloââ¬â¢s character. Those that have concentrated on race have frequently taken the idea too far, indicating that Othello is somehow less of a man because of his ââ¬Ëinferiorââ¬â¢ race. ââ¬Å"Iagoâ⬠â¢s temptation of Othello depends upon the kind of naivetà © Robeson has in mind; but his impassioned behavior when Iagoââ¬â¢s ââ¬Ëmedicineââ¬â¢ works â⬠¦ reflects Shakespeareââ¬â¢s acceptance of the popular notion that blacks are more passionately emotional than whitesâ⬠(Andrews, 1973: 279). Where this differs from prejudice is in the fact that Shakespeare does not make this a central element of Othelloââ¬â¢s character, but only allows it to manifest itself occasionally, such as in the case of the handkerchief. Despite what Andrews may have to say about the absence of a critical analysis regarding the role of Othelloââ¬â¢s race and its impact on his character development prior to the opening of the play, this is exactly the subject of Edward Berryââ¬â¢s article ââ¬Å"Othelloââ¬â¢s Alienationâ⬠(1990). Within his article, Berry, too, reviews the available literature regarding Othelloââ¬â¢s race, claiming the majority of critics choose to relegate

Sociology Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words - 1
Sociology - Essay Example Business cannot operate anymore by simply imposing their own culture in the workplace as well as to the customers. One important element of culture is language. Language is not merely words, objects or symbols. In fact, language embodies the value systems of a group of people. There is an established communication process in a certain culture that must be observed. For example, the case of Chevy Nova which was a real blunder because the company failed to understand the context of the word in Latin America. Another glaring example of wrongly communicating a product to the public was Pepsi-Colaââ¬â¢s campaign that offended the Chinese people. People have deep reverence for ancestors and did not want any form of disrespect for their ancestors coming back from the grave. Usually, western cultures like that of the United States use euphemisms or symbols in their language. This creates miscommunication that puts the companyââ¬â¢s products in a bad light. If Jerryââ¬â¢s company wou ld like to succeed in their overseas venture, then they should consult locals who are expert in marketing and media relations so their messages would sound appropriate to the public. Bartelââ¬â¢s study has established the fact that the highest learning comes from interaction among global teams. Each culture has its own strengths that can be harnessed so people can work productively. The case of the guy who worked with Russians show that some cultures respect hard work. It is indeed hard to acquire the trust and confidence of another culture because they have different values systems. The first step then could be working hard and showing that you mean business. On the other hand, the company should be firm yet considerate of its external environment. Shariff was right when he stated that simple things such as table manners can turn away clients resulting to lost income. It is very important for officers or managers assigned on an overseas assignment to study the culture of the cou ntry before making any policies or programs. A slight error can be costly as the case of Wal-Martââ¬â¢s pull out in Germany costing the company 2 billion dollars. A good example of a company that succeeded is Mitsubishi because it imposes an international policy in the company that promotes to workers the value of cultural tolerance and respect for other human rights. Jerry can begin creating a committee that can formulate similar policies to start things right. Perhaps, seeking specialists in this area is a good idea as well as studying Hofstedeââ¬â¢s Cultural Dimensions for every country that they would expand. Hofstedeââ¬â¢s study is valuable to people like Jerry to understand how and why certain groups of people act. For example, the Japanese highly value team work and frowns upon personal pride. Sales teams can be reworked in a way that it would promote teamwork in Japan rather than give the best salesperson lavish praises. Jerry and the committee can look for internat ional companies that have models of cultural tolerance in the workplace. Jerry should not be afraid of expanding although he has heard of many negative reports of big businesses like Wal-Mart and \Starbucks failing in another country. Instead, he can use these cases to prevent his company from following the same footstep. In the case of Starbucks in Australia, the company failed because at the very start of planning, the company analyzed only the business using a quantitative approach. It definitely created feasibility and

Wireless devices and applications Essay Example for Free
Wireless devices and applications Essay 1.0 Introduction Most of mobile organizations make use of wireless operations this is because they know that with this operation it is a bit simple to use and the costs that is related to it is not very high. This has the indication that most of the organizations are ready to make use of it because they have assurance that it has privacy protection. With change in the technology in the whole world most of customers want privacy and better connectivity at the same time that are not mutually exclusive. There is a broad acceptance of WDA in countries that elected to include wireless numbers in the DA database from the inception of the wireless industry. (Green, 2002) 2.0 Wireless Device Application The wireless devices are common as they are more in front line with assurance of sales and service provision this has the indication that most of the companies ensure that they make use of the wireless devices so that they can be in a position to come up with the right communication to their employees. In this I mean that the employees who are employed in sales organization have to make use of this communication so that they can be in a Position to information their customers what are required. Therefore they have to be in contact with customers if they have to succeed in their sales, this is because lack of functional bridge between the office communications infrastructure and the mobile environment will cause a lot of problems for mobile employees, their organization and their customers which will result to communication delay that will slow down the operation of a business.à Most of the problems that arise are multiple contact numbers, frequent missed calls, voice mail jail, multiple voice mail boxes and expensive conferencing. Most of the organizations are spending a lot of income in the wireless communications service in every data this is because it is a communication that has to be funded so that they can keep their customers informed. This will mean that if they fail to pay everything that is required by the wireless communication company then they will not be in a position to inform the customers about the company products which will not affect the growth of the company. There are numerous carrier services like long distance sertivices. These problems that take place like many missed calls come about because the customers, suppliers and employees do not know which phoneà number to callà so that they can reach the mobile employee. In other words this will mean that with many numbers they are not in a position to know which number will reach a targeted customer this will mean that they will just call numbers which will not be effective and the customers will not be reached as it is required. Therefore the employees will face difficulties in dealing with these problems mainly due to the fact that they should be in a point of receiving the calls of the most important customers but instead they get calls of people who are not important to the organization in terms of raising its sales. The problem of unnecessary voicemail jail come in due ton the fact that the mobile users attempt to connect with callers after missing the original call attempt. (Green, 2002) This will mean that employees will face a lot of problems due to the attempt to connect with customers à as à the first call has failed then one will switch off to other calls meaning that they will not be in a position to get theà customers in a easy way. The problem of wasted time and wireless usage expense which is caused by constant calls ins to check mail by out of office employees. The most pressing problem is the expense that has to be taken by a organization that makes use of the wireless communication this will mean that this communication is not that simple as they might think of it because there are charges that are supposed to be paid failure to which an organization will not be in a position to have expansion in its operations. The charges that are supposed to be paid by an organization will be in office or their home calls and still the calls that are made between the employees where a company has to make long distance rates at a high cost. This will mean that a company will have high charges as it tries to conduct most of the employees and important people that are supposed to be in the organization in other words there are people who are supposed to ensure that the organization is not facing problems in its operations these people have to be conducted and this will mean that wherever they have to be reached any time when they are required. Still a high cost will be in the large administrative effort in that the managers and all the officials in an organization have to ensure that they come up with the approval of wireless expenses meaning that each person who is involved in the organization must be conducted. Therefore they will have to ensure that the expenses that are spendà à are in line with the operations of the organization meaning that the managers may not be able to approve the expense and this will lead to lack of communication because these costs have to be paid and a lot of time is wasted in conducting every official in organization. (Dipietro, 2004) Still the organization will face the expenses of inability to control mobile communications meaning that these devices have to be checked frequently and this is a cost that is to be incurred in an organization. Therefore the expense that is required to be covered in the wireless communication is very high and most of the organizations will end up failing in operations because they will not be able to curb the expenses. The problem of wireless devices and applications lies on the expenses that have to be incurred in an organization. This will mean that if it is a sales organization it has to ensure that the customers are informed of the costs of products and convince them that the product is the best. This will take time because most of the customers can not be easily convinced therefore what they end up doing will be to have high expenses that will be charged by the wireless company.à The expense problem has coverage of every activity that is carried out if it isà missed calls then still there are charges that have to be charged meaning that organization should have a plan on the use of wireless à devices so that they can reduce the costs. The other charges are on the maintenance of these devices this is because these devices are very delicate and should be taken with a lot of concern therefore what one has to do will be to ensure that they have the right maintenance to reduce costs of repair but the problem is that they have to be checked frequently meaning that when there is a problem a high cost has to be invested if they have to communicate well with their customers. This problem of expense leads a company to a point in which it has to make a decision so that there can be a solution to the problem because a company that operates without keeping in mind the costs that have to be incurred then it will not be able to succeed in all the operations and expansion of such organization is very hard. Therefore a sales company should have a plan that will give it guidelines as they have to make use of this wireless devices because it is a fast way that can be used to inform the customers but the problem of expense has to be dealt with so that they can be sure that even if they have to spend in the wireless devices they are sure that costs is not very high. (Dipietro, 2004) The communication efficiency solution will be to come up with the best applications that will lead to a solution to this problem. Like for example there is the blue butler which is a suite that is unique and has powerful communication applications. This suite is designed so that it can increase the business processes for the enterprise so that they can drive revenue and improve the service delivery, ensure that a company will have customer retention and competition is maintained. This is a software platform that enables the communication to be effective in an organization and it is made effective through ensuring that the existing and evolving communication infrastructure are maintained. The organization is in a position to get theà benefitsà of the latest communicationà efficienciesà not minding about the equipment, network services or the communicationsà devices that are in use now or in futureà which anà à organization will be able to deploy. This will mean that a sales organization that has to succeed in its operations will have to use this blue butler so that it can have benefits that are supposed to be received if it has to operate à à without facing problems of communication delays. The implementation plan that is taken by a sales company will be targeted to the blue butlerà which is affordableà digital call recording technology thatà ensure that theà à company will benefit from the recordingà calls. In the implementation plan that what is put in place is the dramatic quality improvement in that a sales company will be in a position to have high quality goods this is because the employees are at their professional be st in knowing that management is right this has the indication that the employees have to treat the customers with respect and professionalism so that the customers can know that they are part of the organization and have to keep everything the way it is required. (Chris, 2005) Therefore the staff will have limited time that is lost in unproductive activities as the internal calls will be focused on business issues. Another thing is that à à the à à delivery is continuous, feedback and best practice training in that the training of staff is done on the best practices that will lead to expansion in an organization. In the training they know the behavior that is accepted by all customers and how to improve the operational results that is through effective telephone practice. This will mean that in the use of theà telephone then the customers will be free as they will be given what they require in other words in the training that is offered to them then they are in a position to know what they have to do so that they canà reach the customers without delays. There will be fast disputeà resolution in that incase a company is involved in problems then the solution will be tackled without wasting time this is because they à know à what they are supposed to do so that they can have reducedà conflict if they have toà win many customers. This means that they will have reliance on face based recordings to eliminate no win confrontations that will lead to time wastage in unproductive activities. There is reduction of errors and omission claims that are can take place in a sales organization this will mean that there will be maintenance of good customer relations that will be referred to facts rather than hearsay cases. This will imply that the errors that can be involved in an organization due toà à simple mistakes will be catered for this is because they are in a position to know what is required of them in other words if the organization requires high sales then this has to be received only through cooperation and relations with each other in an organization. The customers should be taken as a part of organization which will lead to high expansion of organization. (Chris, 2005) In the implementation plan there will be streamlining of order processing in that with the use of recorded phone verifications that are used as audio signatures to book then it means that an organization will be able to eliminate wastage of time and errors that are likely to take place in organization. This means that the order processing will be done with a lot of concern and in the time that is required. The organization will be able to ensure that they comply withà à costs that are charged this is only opposable if an organization is in a position to come up with the bestà à communications in other words in the implementation plan that organization will be in a position to ensure that they will not face high expenses of communication that might interfere with the operations of organization. à The organization will be in a position to ensure that they come up with the right access to the customers this is because in the plan they have dealt with the problems that might arise in the organization itself, staff and employees therefore the organization will access the problems that may raise and deal with them before they lead to more harm. In this I mean that an organization that makes use of blue butler as a solution to the problem of expenses that are faced in organization due to use of wireless communication then they will be in a position to ensure that they are able to operate with limited cases of lack of operations and at the same time they will have high costs. Therefore all organizations should ensure that the problems that are linked to wireless devices and applications are dealt with so that they have high expansion. The technology improvements will enable the building of information systems which can be used in any place at any time. (Basili, 1990) This imply that companies that make use of mobile devices will be in a position toà rise its production, ensure that the procedures are flexible and change the services that are given to their customers andà ensure that information is accurate for decision making. Generally what I mean is that organizations have to face a lot of problems but what they have to do so that they can deal with their problems will be to adopt a service that will be less costly and will deal with problems that are facedà in an organization. In a sales organization most of the problems that are related to communication will be to reach employees and customers so that they can have high sales. Therefore no organization will be able to reach all the customers without a link to communication therefore with the technology changes that are taking place in the world today the organizations should be in a position to change with the technology so that they will not be left out in expansion. In this I mean that the customers want to be reached and convinced about a product therefore to make sure this is reached then it is only their the use of the right communication measures that will ensure that they areà given information that is best but the problem is cost that has to be incurred. A company has to choose a communication linkage that will reach many customers in a short time and with limited costs incurred. This is mainly because they are supposed to ensure that they reach all and the only way through will beà à wireless devices and other devices that are in use today. Therefore a company that has to come up and be successful in its operations will be through the use of communication that is not very expensive and will reach many customers. (Basili, 1990) 3.0 Conclusion In the use of wireless devices and applications there are many dangers that might come up but the solutions will be that the company will have high production because the customer will be reached with limited time lost. Therefore companies should make sure that in any information system that is to be used then they have the right procedure taken so that they have communication channel been complete. In this I mean that with high costs in communication many companies will not be in a point of reaching all their customers but to deal with this problem then what they will have to do will be to come up with communication that is less costly and will cover many customers.
